1. Who we are
Joaquin Marcus, trading as FootyTrainy, is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. That means we decide why and how your personal data is processed when you use FootyTrainy.
2. Data we collect and why
- Account data (email address, securely handled sign-in credentials and account creation date) — to create and secure your account and let you sign in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Training content (workouts, custom blocks and session history) — to provide the Service and, when you sign in, sync this data across devices. Uploaded audio is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Entitlement data (subscription status, packs purchased, renewal dates) — to give you access to what you have paid for. Legal basis: contract.
- Technical and usage data (IP address, device/browser type, error logs, basic usage events) — for security, fraud prevention, debugging and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, working service.
- Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
- Marketing emails, if you opt in — legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Payment card details are never collected or stored by us — they are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
3. Who we share data with
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, for the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, and error-monitoring tooling, acting on our instructions.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK/EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. Retention
We keep account and training data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons (typically up to 7 years) or to resolve disputes.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA, you can also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, account-based access controls and restricted access to systems that process personal data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and support core app functions. When you use FootyTrainy without signing in, workouts, custom blocks and session history are stored on your device; uploaded audio always remains on your device. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this data through your browser settings, though you may need to sign in again and locally stored content may be lost.
9. Children
FootyTrainy is not directed at children under 13. If a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
